It shows your public IP address, the one the internet sees you from. Your device's private address (typically starting 192.168 or 10.) is only visible inside your own network and is not shown here.

IP geolocation is approximate. It usually places you near your internet provider's routing point rather than your exact address, and a VPN or mobile connection can move it further still. Treat it as a rough region, not a pinpoint.

IPv6 addresses are often written in a shortened form with a double colon (::) standing in for a run of zeros. Expansion rewrites the address in full so you can compare it exactly against firewall rules or DNS records.
